What is a certified translation?

A certified translation is a translation where a translator appointed by the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic confirms with their signature and stamp featuring the state coat of arms that the translated text corresponds to the meaning of the text in the original document.

Who does a certified translation?

A certified translation is done by a person who has passed language and specialist exams, and is listed in the Register of Translators managed by the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic.

What does a certified translation look like?

The translated text is printed and bound with a document in the original language and the translator's clause using a three-colour ribbon, similarly to a notarised document.

The translator confirms with this clause that the content of the text in both languages is identical, and then signs and stamps the bound papers.

Bounding to the original or to a notarised copy?

We will gladly help you decide whether to bound the translation to the original document, notarised copy or scanned copy.

For example, an extract from the commercial register, power of attorney or notarised signature is most commonly bound to the original.
